Dick's Obituary

Richard W. (Dick) Dudkowski, 79, of Buchanan passed away on September 30, 2021, at his home in Buchanan, MI. He was born on April 2, 1942, in South Bend, IN., to the late Mary (Mae) and Fred H. "Fritz" Dudkowski. He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam H. Dudkowski in 2013 and brothers, James Dudkowski in 1943 and Fred Dudkowski in 2007. Dick attended South Bend Central High School then he decided to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. After serving he came home and married the love of his life, Miriam Treat on December 22, 1963, in South Bend, IN., and of this union, they welcomed a son Darren Dudkowski into the world. He survives and resides in Hammond, Indiana He worked as a machinist at South Bend Lathe, The Torrington Company and finally retiring from Lock Joint Tube. Dick was a huge Notre Dame fan and in his younger days was an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling- going to Europe, Hawaii, & Canada along with many US states. Dick loved going with his son on gambling trips, Laughlin, NV was one of his favorite places. He enjoyed going out to sing Karaoke. Dick was a former Coach & President of the Buchanan Midget Basketball League. Visitation will be Wednesday October 6th from 4:30-7:30 PM at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. A celebration of his life will be on Thursday October 7th, 11:00 AM also at Swem Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
