Cathrine's Obituary
Cathrine Pauline Sater, age 66, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. She was born on March 13, 1958, to Robert and Maryann (Slavicek) Nernberg in Benton Harbor, Michigan. On June 5, 2000, she married her high School Sweetheart, David Sater, and they spent 20 loving years together until his passing July of 2020.
Cathrine will be laid to rest on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 10:00 am at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville, Michigan. Her family would like to welcome friends for a celebration of her life at the Stevensville American Legion Post 568 on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 6:00 pm. For a more lasting memory, donations in Cathrine’s name can be made out to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
Cathrine worked for several years at Whirlpool, before retiring from maintenance at the Berrien County Courthouse. She loved the outdoors, and you could often find her fishing or camping. Her other pastimes included listening to the oldies, playing pool, loving her cats, but most importantly, spending time with her beloved family.
Cathrine is survived by her stepdaughters, Krystal (Joel) Vance, Jessica (Jason) Tipton; grandchildren, Hailey, Avah, and Kinsley Vance; sister, Becky Vernon; niece, Amanda (Jeremy) Lewis; close friend, Susan Gonzales; and companion of the last three years, Ron Wagner. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, David Sater; sister, Debbie Davis; and nephew, Daniel Davis.
